What Is Adderall?

Adderall is a prescription medication that is used to treat children and adults with ADHD. It is in the psychostimulant class in the family of medications to treat ADHD. It helps the symptoms of inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity within 20 min. to 2 hours after ingesting it. Its benefits last four 3 to 12 hours. It must be taken each day that the patient wants to have the benefits.

Adderall comes in two forms, Adderall and Adderall Xr. The main difference between the two preparations is the duration of action. Plain Adderall also known as Adderall IR provides benefits for usually 3 to 5 hours. Adderall Xr, also known as extended release Adderall lasts about 7 to 9 hours.

Adderall IR can be purchased with a prescription without insurance for $.35 per pill today in Atlanta at Kroger pharmacies with the use of the USA drug plan membership card. This card can be obtained by going online at USA Drug Plan

We provide these cards to our patients and counseling regarding the least expensive medications for ADHD and other psychiatric conditions.

Adderall Xr usually costs between five dollars and seven dollars per pill without insurance. Both forms of Adderall are usually covered by insurance.

Adderall is highly addictive for some people. It is therefore a carefully controlled medication.
